Presented by: Dr. Patrick R. Progar, Brett DiNovi, Rita Barretta, Elizabeth Christine, and Josh Ziegler
CEUs: 3.0 Supervision CEUs (offered FREE for 2022 PennABA Members)
Abstract
This presentation will describe how we use behavioral strategies such as pinpointing, goal setting, self-
monitoring and reporting out, reciprocal feedback, and pay for performance to improve the supervision we
provide as well as increase employee retention. Maintaining appropriate levels of supervision and
quality of supervision is critical to producing large and durable changes in behavior. We believe that
providing high-quality supervision is also critical to employee retention. While some ABA providers may
struggle with turnover, using the above strategies has consistently produced high levels of retention in
our organization. Taken together, participants will learn to implement these strategies at all levels of an
organization. While concepts such as pay for performance are a component of some for-profit
organizations, the presentation will also highlight how these concepts can be applied in nonprofit
settings as well.
